Heroes Brawl Returns as Brawl Mode in Heroes of the Storm
Exciting news for Heroes of the Storm players: the beloved Heroes Brawl is making a comeback, reimagined as Brawl Mode. This update brings back a variety of discontinued maps that haven't been seen in nearly five years, offering unique challenges and gameplay variations. Brawl Mode is currently available for testing on the Public Test Realm (PTR) and is set to officially launch with the next patch, expected in about a month.
Originally introduced in 2016 as Arena Mode, Heroes Brawl was a fan-favorite that offered weekly rotating challenges with innovative map layouts, alternative objectives, and quirky rulesets. From the all-Nova Ghost Protocol sniper duel to the action-packed Arena versions of various battlefields and the PvE mission Escape from Braxis, these brawls added a fresh twist to the game. However, due to the popularity of single-lane maps and maintenance challenges, it was replaced by ARAM in 2020. Now, under the new name Brawl Mode, players can look forward to its return with a biweekly rotation schedule, set to change on the 1st and 15th of each month. Participants can earn a special chest by playing three games during each Brawl period, though it's unclear if this reward can be earned multiple times per Brawl.
The first Brawl Mode, Snow Brawl, is currently live on the PTR, giving players a holiday-themed challenge to enjoy. The in-game interface suggests this PTR phase will last three weeks, hinting at a potential start for Brawl Mode in early February.
This revival coincides with the 10-year anniversary of Heroes of the Storm on June 2, 2025, making it a fitting tribute to the Blizzard MOBA. Fans are hopeful that this could signal further developments and possibly an official revival of the game.
Heroes of the Storm PTR Patch Notes (January 6, 2025)
The latest patch for Heroes of the Storm is now available for playtesting on the Public Test Realm. Players are encouraged to report any bugs encountered during testing on the PTR Bug Report forum.
